"I have to speed things up and I have to figure out a way to open up",'' said Cameron. "I must work hard to get into the game and perform better. I need to get involved and be a part of the team and do my best for this team. This is what I want to do."
The third-year receiver was enjoying an outstanding season in 2013 but his performance has fall significantly in the past two weeks with new quarterback Jason Campbell targeting Cameron just 18 times in the past three games. Cameron has had 45 catches and 515 yards and six touchdowns during the first seven games of the season, is averaging just seven catches for just 33 yards the last two games.
Cameron, who had been emerging as a big-play threat for the offensively-challenged Browns this season, says that defenses are rolling coverage his way and are now limiting his effectiveness downfield. Cameron says that it's up to him to work harder and beat the coverage and that he's not worried about his relationship with the starting quarterback.
"I do not think it's Jason even remotely,'' Cameron stated. "They're hitting you on the line and then somebody hitting you on the second level, so it's just harder chemistry with the route. The timing could be off."
